HISTORY: Before the recorded history of man, Earth was visited by a powerful alien race, the Rend. Their only goal was to breed a better source of prey to feed upon. The Rend fed on psionic energy to increase their own psionic powers and only sentient beings generate psionic energy. So the Rend scientist known as K’cog began experimenting on a random group of primitive human beings to boost their dormant psionic potential. K’cog’s genetic experiments yielded more than he anticipated. The humans began to display powerful and unpredictable abilities such as dramatically increased physical strength and the power to manipulate matter on a sub-atomic level. K’cog had succeeded in breeding his improved food source, but this food fought back. One human displayed powers beyond all the rest. This individual was the ancestor of the human known as Rod Wilson. Wilson’s ancestor was able to perceive K’cog’s intentions and warn the others. Together they trained in secret to perfect their powers and eventually confronted K’cog.
It is unclear what transpired at that time, but what is surmised is that there was a violent battle in which K’cog was nearly defeated. Wilson’s ancestor and his fellow test subjects had their essence ripped from their bodies. Their minds were, for some unknown reason, preserved but their bodies destroyed. K’cog ceased his experiments and the Rend fled earth. It is theorized that before their battle, Wilson’s ancestor and his companions were able to introduce their enhanced DNA to the rest of humanity through their progeny and that Wilson and the other Vindicators their descendants.
After thousands of years K’cog returned to earth in the present. Seeming to have become benevolent, he sought out and contacted Wilson and told him of the Rend and that they where returning to earth to feed. The earth and all mankind would be destroyed. But he offered assistance. He told Wilson he could awaken the dormant genetic potential passed down from his ancestor. Wilson agreed and the process was successful. He now possessed powers presumably as great as his ancestors. Now going by the code name Vector, Wilson gathered others who carried the dormant genetic code. Those individuals eventually became the Vindicators.
Now Vector leads the Vindicators. They train for the day the Rend return, when they will fight and defend Earth with honor.
POWERS: Vector possesses a vast array of superhuman powers.
ENHANCED POWERS: Vector can, through concentration, enhance his abilities to unparalleled levels.
NOTE: Vector can normally only enhance one power at a time as enhancement requires almost total concentration. Attempting more than one enhancement at a time can reduce the effectiveness of the affected powers. In addition enhancing multiple powers can cause Vector to be severely exhausted for a limited time.
Unification: It is theorized that a being with the ability to manipulate matter on a sub-atomic level could possibly harness the power generated by every sub-atomic particle within that individual’s sphere of influence. The larger the sphere of influence, the greater the power harnessed. Vector is the descendant of the only known individual to do this on a universal level. If Vector can master this ability nothing will be beyond his ability.
Wilson has had martial arts training in the Shotokan style of karate. He has also received hand to hand combat and weapons training in both the United States Marine Corps and the NYPD police academy. He is a resilient and intuitive fighter
Weapons: Vector’s weapon is a sword of his design based on a weapon used by African warriors called the Assegai sword. The Assegai, invented by the legendary Zulu king Shaka in the early 1800's, revolutionized tribal warfare in Southern Africa. Vector’s Assegai sword is made of “Quantum steel”, a metal that is at once flexible and virtually indestructible. During an attempt at unification Vector apparently inadvertently imbued the Assegai sword with part of his own “essence” or “spirit”. The sword now exhibits traits no inanimate object should, including being able to change size and shape and even propel itself long distances on command.
Paraphernalia: Uni-suit- All Vindicator’s wear a uni-suit. The uni-suit is made of an extremely durable yet flexible material that is resistant to puncture and tearing, temperature extremes, molecular acids, and ballistic penetration. The uni-suit when fitted with a multi-badge is capable of being reconfigured on a molecular level in order to change its appearance and/or function. For example when properly configured the multi-badge can change a uni-suit from civilian guise to battle suit. This transformation is immediate on command and permanent until changed by the wearer. Some configurations require additional mass such as battle armor and space armor.
Multi-Badge- The multi-badge is actually a super compact information-processing interface capable of several functions. Some of these functions include but are not limited to;
Nano-patch- The nano-patch is an all-purpose emergency first-aid application that can rapidly treat or repair most illnesses or injuries. The nano-patch is a self-adhering patch that is loaded with nano-machines that are pre-programmed with a complete database of human physiology and the means to repair it. The nano-patch can return a critically injured individual to fighting strength in minutes. The nano-patch does not heal all injuries completely or immediately. It is meant as an emergency measure and serious injuries require adequate recuperation time to completely heal.
The DOMUS: The Domus is a gigantic alien starship “inherited” by Vector. The civilization that created the ship has been extinct for thousands of years, but the ship still appears relatively new.
The Domus is capable of extended deep space travel and can travel great distances using space-folding technology. It can generate defensive shielding and has a variety of offensive weaponry.
Dimensions;
The Domus contains technology gathered over its long journey through the universe and many of the functions of this technology are still undiscovered.
The every day autonomic functions of the Domus are controlled by an A.I. (artificial intelligence) that Vector has named Rhea after the Titaness daughter of Uranus and of Gaia.
The Domus is now home to Vector and the Vindicators.
RHEA: Rhea is an artificial intelligence created by K’cog to assist him in his experiments. Rhea contains vast knowledge collected over eons and is capable of processing speeds of over 100,000 teraflops.
Rhea is pure programming and has no true physical form, although she can extend her program into devices, machines, and automatons. Rhea has also referred to the Domus as her body.
Although Rhea was not programmed to have a personality or emotional responses it is believed that exposure to humans has caused it to develop them. “She” has taken on a female persona and has displayed rudimentary emotions.
Though Rhea was created by K’cog, Vector was the first person to treat her as a sentient being and she will sometimes exhibit a preference for his company.
